What a roof costs at 100, 150 or 200 m²

Material for a 100 m² gable roof costs 9 837–18 425 MDL in Bavaria, Monterey or Bango metal tiles and 9 810–17 442 MDL in H-20 or H-35 profiled sheet, depending on the steel. Worked out from the public prices and each profile's useful width.

Bavaria on 100 m²Illustrated example · 2 slopes of 5 × 10 m · 18 sheets of 5.10 m

Three roofs. Six profiles.

Each roof has two rectangular slopes. Sheets are counted as the calculator counts them: across the profile's useful width, at the length the machine cuts. The range runs from 0.32 mm Taiwan steel (90 MDL/m²) to 0.55 mm Korea V-MATT (153 MDL/m²).

One example, step by step. Bavaria on 100 m².

This is how the calculator reaches the table's figures. The same rules give every row.

Area
2 slopes × 5 m × 10 m = 100 m²
Sheets across
10 m ÷ 1120 mm useful width = 8.93 → 9 sheets a slope
Sheet length
5 m of slope → a 5.10 m sheet: the press cannot cut tile between 4.90 m and 5.05 m
Sheets to order
9 × 2 slopes = 18 sheets of 5.10 m
Steel paid for
18 × 5.10 m × 1206 mm total width = 110.71 m²
Material
110.71 m² × 90 MDL/m² = 9 964 MDL (0.32 mm Taiwan); × 153 MDL/m² = 16 939 MDL (0.55 mm Korea V-MATT)

Questions on cost. Answers from the catalogue.

  1. How much does the material for a 100 m² roof cost?

For a 100 m² gable roof: 9 837–18 425 MDL in Bavaria, Monterey or Bango metal tiles, 13 539–23 017 MDL in Bavaria Modular and 9 810–17 442 MDL in H-20 or H-35 profiled sheet. The difference is the steel, from 0.32 mm Taiwan to 0.55 mm Korea V-MATT. Accessories, delivery and fitting are not included.

  2. How many square metres of sheet does a 100 m² roof need?

More than 100: sheets overlap across their width and the length is cut at the machine's step. For 2 slopes of 5 × 10 m: 109 m² (H-35), 109.3 m² (Monterey), 110.71 m² (Bavaria), 114 m² (H-20), 120.43 m² (Bango), 150.44 m² (Bavaria Modular). Bavaria Modular needs the most, because its 770 mm panels overlap vertically by 200 mm.

  3. What does the table's price leave out?

Accessories (ridge, eaves flashing, gable trims, valleys), screws, membrane, delivery and fitting. The calculator adds the ridge, eaves and gables at the public accessory price. In the Chișinău + 30 km zone, delivery of orders over 100 m² is free. The final price is confirmed in the quote.

    Accessory prices
  4. Profiled sheet or metal tiles: which comes out cheaper?

Per square metre of sheet, the same: both are made from the same steels, 90–153 MDL/m². The difference is the useful width and the cutting: on 150 m², H-20 needs 164.16 m² of steel and Bavaria 178.01 m² (14 774–25 116 MDL against 16 021–27 235 MDL). H-20 profiled sheet is laid from 8°, tiles from 14°.

    The profiled sheet profiles
  5. Why does the price differ for the same area?

The steel: its thickness, origin and finish. The same 200 m² roof in Bavaria costs 20 351 MDL in 0.32 mm Taiwan steel and 34 597 MDL in 0.55 mm Korea V-MATT. The shape counts too: on a hip roof the sheets are cut along the hips, and the calculator counts the steel cut off as well.
