One metre of 2 m fence costs 160–400 MDL in metal slat and 186–329 MDL in H-7, H-8, H-10 or H-20 profiled sheet, depending on the steel. Slats are counted at a 125 mm pitch (a 100 mm slat and a 25 mm gap): 8 slats a metre.

Slat is sold by the linear metre: at a 125 mm pitch (a 100 mm slat and a 25 mm gap) a metre of fence takes 8 slats, cut to the fence's height. Sheet is sold by the m²: whole sheets stand side by side on their useful width. The range runs from the cheapest steel to the dearest: slat from 0.32 mm Taiwan (10 MDL/lin. m) to 0.42 mm Korea HI-MATT (25 MDL/lin. m), sheet from 0.32 mm Taiwan (90 MDL/m²) to 0.55 mm Korea V-MATT (153 MDL/m²).
