How to compare two roof quotations correctly

A lower quoted sum does not automatically mean the same offer. Compare the profile, material, physical area, accessories, transport and included documents line by line.

Technical basis: the Europrofill public catalogue and current production rules.

In detail

Start by checking that both quotations describe the same project. Slope lengths, sheet count, profile and accessory geometry must use the same measurements.

Compare covered area and physical material area separately. Useful width remains on the roof after overlap; total sheet width enters the physical quantity produced and invoiced.

Write each material specification on one line: colour, thickness, finish and origin. If one component differs, the material is not the same.

Check what the quoted sum includes: profiled sheets, ridges, valleys, flashings, verges, junction pieces, fasteners, rainwater system, transport and measurement. A price without a quantity list does not explain the difference.

Look for written limits and conditions: validity, material availability, reconfirmed lead time, payment conditions and the point when dimensions become final for production.

At receipt, the quotation, order and delivery documents must connect. The profile, colour, thickness and finish should match the accepted specification.

Compare the totals only after aligning all these rows. Otherwise, one quotation may look cheaper simply because it excludes part of the material, accessories or services.
